EA Sports Active can help you meet your fitness goals. What is EA Sports Active Personal Trainer?  It’s a new game for your Wii system that offers exercise and sports activities.  EA Sports joined with Bob Greene, author of The Best Life Diet and best known as Oprah’s personal trainer, to design this game.  In fact, the company prefers to call the Wii Active a “personal trainer in a box” rather than a game.EA Sports Active is the newest Wii workout game, joining the fitness and gaming concept begun by Nintendo’s Wii Fit.  This new game offers even more potential for meeting your fitness goals.

How Will Wii Active Help You Achieve Your Fitness Goals?

Unlike Wii Fit,  Wii Active allows you to have continuous play workouts. You continue exercising through 20 minute circuits that really get your heart pumping.  These workouts were developed with Bob Greene’s input.  They allow you to focus on certain areas of your body like cardio or strength training workouts.Combining these together will make even more challenging workout sessions.

Wii Active gives you the option to make custom workouts. You can use these for focusing on particular fitness goals.  You can customize the workout as much as you like. The virtual personal trainer is always available to provide feedback and will let you know when your workouts need to increase in intensity.

The game comes with two accessories that help you make the most of the exercises provided.  A leg strap attaches to your thigh and you place the nunchuck into the strap. This uses the motion sensors that allow the game to give you feedback on both your arms and your legs. The intensity of the exercises can be increased by using the resistance game that comes as an accessory of the game.

Wii Active includes both sports activities and exercises.  Tennis, volleyball, and basketball are a few of the sports activities included.  The game also has exercises like lateral raises, squat jump and lunges.Although it isn’t required to play the game, the Wii balance board that comes with Wii Fit is also compatible with the volleyball, inline skating, basketball and cardio boxing activities to name just a few.

With the calendar feature you can track your workouts on Wii Active. It also tracks your exercise activities beyond the game or outside the game.So if you wrote your bike for 10 miles that day, you would also be able to record that on the calendar within the game.

The 30-day challenge that is part of Active is another great way to keep your workouts interesting. The challenge is made up of 30 days of 20-minute workouts. These exercise circuits are specifically tailored to your own personal fitness level.  It tracks your progress including your intensity levels and calories.Visual feedback is given with graphs.

A key feature of EA Sports Active is the function of multi-player game play.  Both you and an exercise buddy can use the program at the same time.  You can purchase an additional leg strap and resistance band to complete your 20-minute circuits together.  You can even challenge your workout partner, and the game will tell you who won based on each player’s fitness level.

Achieving your fitness goals has never been easier than with EA Active.  This Wii game has the potential to keep variety in your workouts, as well as providing feedback from your virtual personal trainer to see your progress towards your goals.EA Sports promises expansion pack for this game which they claim will focus on specific areas of the body.
